*Florida
board certified specialist in Wills, Trusts and Estates and in Elder Law
Peggy is an attorney, author and
entrepreneur who reflects her passion for pets in almost everything she
does. She comes by her love of animals
naturally as her father was the President and CEO of The Humane Society of the
United States from 1970-1997.
Peggy and her
law partner, Randy Bryan, own and operate The Law Offices of Hoyt & Bryan,
LLC—Family Wealth & Legacy Counsellors, in Oviedo, Florida. Both Peggy and Randy are dual Florida Bar
board certified specialists in Wills, Trusts and Estates as well as Elder
Law. Their firm limits its practice to
estate planning and elder law issues including the creation, maintenance and
administration of estate plans that “work.” Areas of expertise also include
planning for special needs family members, unmarried couples, business
succession and of course, pets.
Peggy has
written a number of books. Her
first, All My Children Wear Fur Coats – How to Leave a Legacy for Your Pet, (LegacyForYourPet.com) was inspired by her pets, currently three horses, seven
dogs (including one service puppy) and one brave cat. Other co-authored books include Special People, Special Planning - Creating
a Safe Legal Haven for Families with Special Needs; Loving Without a License –
An Estate Planning Survival Guide for Unmarried Couples and Same Sex Partners;
A Matter of Trust – The Importance of Personal Instructions; Women in
Transition – Navigating the Legal and Financial Challenges in Your Life; Like a Library Burning – Saving and Sharing
Stories of a Lifetime; Thank Everybody for Everything – Grow Your Life and
Business with Gratitude; Gratitude Expressions – a Five Year Journal; and
The Straight Talk Series that includes Straight
Talk! About Estate Planning and Straight
Talk! What to Do When Someone Dies. All are available on Amazon.com.
Peggy is
active in a variety of organizations, including WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel,
the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA), Central Florida Estate
Planning Council and as an Executive Council member of the General Practice,
Solo and Small Firm Section of the Florida Bar. She is a frequent speaker on
estate planning and elder law topics, as well as practice management including
team training and marketing.
Peggy is
married to Joe Allen and spends her “free” time training for limited distance
endurance and competitive trail riding events on her rescue Anglo Arab mare, Heaven.
